Now That’s What I Call Haiku

Spurgeon’s College (college for future UK Baptist ministers) has a Christmas Haiku competition.

I’ve been having some fun trying my hand at haiku, a Japanese form of poetry, in this case with five syllables in the first line, seven in the second, and five in the third.

Here’s an example of a haiku, written when I was 12:

The surface ripples.

Blue arrow dives from green bow.

Kingfisher! And gone.
