The past few days all the news has been filled with the awful tragedy in Connecticut. What occurred there is truly awful, but this media feeding frenzy is distasteful; they’re no better than swarming cockroaches. The time will come when the families may or may not choose to share their stories, but for some it will be too late. The ‘story’ of their loved ones will already have been told, and retold, in an indulgence of mediocrity, hearsay and sensationalism.
Let them grieve.
It’s not a freak show.
When, if, the families choose to tell their stories, give them the respect of being asked what they consent to. Don’t steal that too.
