Kisses from Katie

I have just finished reading the book Kisses from Katie. It is the story of a young woman’s incredible journey serving the God she loves. She challenges us on every page. I am inspired to work as hard as I can to get the best degree I can in International Development and Statistics. I know that God has placed this before me and that this is where He is leading me. I am so thankful for the Katies of this world. I hope I can be a even a hundredth as good, as obedient, as loving as she is. What a beautiful reflection of Christ!

She reminds us of the words in Luke 10:27 ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind”; and, “Love your neighbour as yourself.’

and then she adds:

‘And myself doesn’t want to be starving, so I don’t want other people in the world to be starving

Jesus does not ask that we care for the less fortunate; He demands it.

When calling ourselves Christ-followers, caring for orphans,

and the desolate

and the widow

are not an option.

It’s a requirement.‘

It is a wonderful book. I can’t recommend it highly enough. One of the best books I have read all year. God is good. God is amazing!
